Greetings from Cochabamba! We arrived safely this morning into beautiful
Cochabamba with all of our luggage, praise God!
All of our flights were on time and apart from a few struggles with the
high altitude in La Paz, we are all well.
The rest of my teammates are sleeping after a long night of travel last
night and a great first day here in Bolivia.
Pastor Jaime San Martin and his wife
Ruth have provided a beautiful home for us to stay in. It is safe, clean, comfortable and feels like
home. We’ll post some photos tomorrow of
it. After arriving into Cochabamba this
morning, we rested at the house until late afternoon and then had some tasty
chicken, cheese and carne rellenos before heading to the Cristo statue that
overlooks Cochabamba. We arrived there
at sunset and enjoyed the beautiful view.
We prayed for God’s blessing and guidance during our days of ministry
here in Cochabamba. Then we had a full
team adventure to the Ice Norte Supermarket (sorta like a Wal-Mart in the USA)
and bought our breakfast and lunch foods for this week. We had 16 people looking for groceries! What a riot—and we all still talked to one
another after we left!
Tomorrow we begin the soccer clinic
and Vacation Bible School at Florida Norte and then spend our first evening
with the church leaders and congregation in the evening. Thank you for all of your prayers and love.
Praising God for His grace and
faithfulness,
Mateo (Matthew Beish)
